WeldGalaxy Announces Winners of Open Innovation Calls
34 companies responded to the WeldGalaxy project open call to finance intelligent solutions for the welding industry. 10 companies
made it to the winning panel, and will receive 100,000 Euros in funding. Let's see who they are.
On March 16 2020, the WeldGalaxy project that we are partnering was launching an open call to find pilot projects to become part of an exclusive 6 month
WeldGAlaxy Support Programme. This open call went out to European SMEs and MidCaps to offer technical support, business mentoring, media exposure and funding.
The open call was closed on May 29 2020 with 10 winning proposals chosen from a submitted total of 34. Each of the 10 winner proposals will receive funding of
100,000 Euros each.
The winner projects cover a variety of topics ranging from robotic welding automation, to wire arc additive manufacturing, an intelligent welding hold tool, a
camera for arc applications, weld monitoring or an automatic defect recognition system for weld seams on X-ray images.
The companies proposing these innovative solutions are: SARKKIS Robotics, REBARTEK AS, MX3D B.V., Flex Hex IVS, Cavitar Oy, Alexander Binzel Schweisstechnik
GmbH & Co. KG, sentin GmbH, XARION Laser Acoustics GmbH, NEW INFRARED TECHNOLOGIES, S.L. and Nissatech.
TWI experts in arc welding, robotics, sensors and additive manufacture will be assisting these companies to develop their innovations and Fundingbox will
provide business support.
The WeldGalaxy team will look forward to assisting with all of the projects and a kick-off event is now planned for October 5th.
The second call for further projects to be supported by WeldGalaxy will be launched next Spring.
Project WeldGalaxy is funded from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 822106.
RomSoft is part of the project consortium, delivering its knowhow in implementing and validating new privacy technologies related to blockchains.
