Welcoming Christmas

– how to guide yourself to a peaceful inner state –

Welcoming Christmas, with Diana Teodorescu

Every December it seems that the world is absorbed into a frenzy of multitasking, meeting upcoming deadlines, overspending, making holiday plans, and generally, tightening any remaining loose ends of the year.

With this last Community Talks meeting of the year, we wanted to change the perspective, with the help of a long-time RomSoft friend, Diana Teodorescu, Owner of Psychology Center Iasi and Associate Professor at the “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University, Iasi – Faculty of Psychology.

The conversation theme was „WELCOMING CHRISTMAS – How to guide yourself to a peaceful inner state”.

A few takeaways

Just in time for us to welcome Christmas, Diana came with her energy and inspiration to help us find more calm, equilibrium, and psychological flexibility in our professional but also our everyday life.

As usual, there were a few takeaways from this encounter, but the most important thing was that in order to reach a peaceful inner state we have to work on it every day.

Why isn’t it easy? Because we lack the practice to live in the present, and not only to recognize our own present values but also to take concrete actions and act by those values.

But the good news is that we all, natively, have the instruments to do that, there’s no required book, tool, gadget – you name it – that can make things miraculously better. It’s up to us.

Thank you Diana for the eye-opening insights, we hope for more future encounters like this one!

What is Community Talks

After (almost) three years of remote work, we feel the need to, once in a while, get together and learn about inspiring stories from our line of work or from our community that are relevant to us.

With this idea in mind, we created a program called Community Talks. It is part of our larger discussion about tech storytelling and how to have better conversations in our everyday work.

Once a month, we want to invite somebody from outside RomSoft to share with us an inspiring story, or just to have an interesting conversation, be it in the technical area or anything else that we have a shared interest in.

Our guests will play the role of the Guide to any good story, helping us navigate through difficult challenges, acquire new skills and understand where the opportunities lie in this rapidly changing world.
